FCPS Parents for Intentional Technology was formed in December 2025 as a response to the rapidly changing exposure to technology faced by our children in our school district and at home. 

Our current top priorities are the following,

1. Establish a Tech Advisory Committee made up of parents teachers and teachers

2. Implement age-differentiated screen time guidelines by grade, including elimination of 1:1 devices for youngest learners, K-2

3. Conduct an assessment of effectiveness of devices and EdTech

4. Allow-listing of approved websites for students - grade by grade

5. Ability to opt-out of 1:1 in the meantime
